Packing

2022 - SPRING

You can find my pack list from Spring of 2022 via a publicly viewable google sheet HERE.

I managed to cut quite a few KGs compared to my pack in 2017, thanks in part to a new ultralight tent and sleeping bag, as well as ditching my DSLR camera, tripod and solar charger.

We all have our own needs, preferences and styles - so your pack might look completely different from mine (e.g. I had to take my laptop to keep up with work…). There’ll be lots of useful info out there on how to pack, so I’m sharing this list only as a reference!

2017 - Summer

Below is a photo of what I took on my month-long walk along the Michinoku Coastal Trail in July - August 2017.
Yup… I’m quite frankly amazed that I didn’t keel over on day 1. Total pack weight (incl. food, water and fuel) = approx. 25kg.
Mind you, I had to carry heavier items like my DSLR camera, laptop, and tripod for the “documenting” part of the project.
You can (and probably should, for the sake of your back and knees) pack a lot lighter, of course depending on the season.
Happy packing!
